Life in retirement seems as busy as ever. I retired from the Sociology Department at the University of Essex in 2006 awaiting transplant surgery which fortunately happened in February 2007. The surgery was a great success and I am full of praise for the NHS, the staff at King’s College Hospital – and want to express great gratitude to my donor and her family.
I am now Emeritus Professor, and still hang around the department a little – doing a little thinking, chatting, supervision and teaching. To visit the University of Essex, click here.
